Brenzone sul Garda has a new cycle path thanks to CDP

How we are supporting the sustainable tourism sector with #ItaliaComune

A circular cycle path around Lake Garda is a dream that all the local towns and the three regions bordering Italy’s largest lake - Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige - have had for years. The project originates from the sporting heritage of Lake Garda: a popular tourist destination for visitors from all over Europe, where the added value lies in the balance between the environment, landscape and culture.

The town of Brenzone sul Garda - with two thousand five hundred inhabitants, located between the slopes of Monte Baldo and the lake's Veronese shore - recently decided to give the project a new boost. Thanks to support from Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, the lakefront section between Assenza di Brenzone and Castelletto has been upgraded. Two cycle and footpaths have been created in full harmony with the area’s natural beauty, linking all the local villages and providing valuable tourist infrastructure. The path is also strategically located along the cycle route that crosses the Eastern Alps, linking Germany and the Adriatic Riviera, running down from Munich to Venice.

The local authority does not hide its appreciation for the support received from CDP and has displayed #ItaliaComune plaques to mark the completion of the project. It hopes that this project will the followed by other initiatives in the community, which will have beneficial effects on the local economy and tourism.

By supporting the Garda project, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti confirms its commitment to strengthening projects in the sustainable tourism sector and enhancing the country's environmental and cultural heritage.
