"Pietro Venuti" constructed at Muggiano naval yard

Fincantieri announces the delivery of the "Pietro Venuti” submarine to the Italian Navy. It is the third of a series of four sister vessels. The Venuti is equipped with highly innovative technologies and made entirely of non-magnetic material with the application of the silencing devices for noise reduction.
The 55.9 meter submarine is operated by a 27-person crew, has a surface displacement of 1,509 tons, a maximum diameter of 7 meters, and can reach underwater speeds exceeding 16 knots.
