€3 million for 7 youth projects from Fondazione CDP and “Con i Bambini”

The “Strumenti per crescere” (Tools for growth) initiative kicks off to promote the development of basic skills in STEAM subjects among students in Southern Italy

Students aged between 11 and 17 from the south of Italy will be involved in range of activities from finding innovative solutions for energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, to programming robotic arms, from musical computing to 3D printing, and from using IT tools to understand the mechanisms of cyberbullying to promoting local knowledge and active citizenship. All made possible thanks to the “Strumenti per crescere” call for applications.

Launched last May by Fondazione CDP and the social enterprise Con i Bambini, as part of the Fund to combat child educational poverty, “Strumenti per crescere” saw 7 projects selected to receive grants totalling €3 million.

The aim is to promote the development of basic skills in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) subjects among young people in the provinces of Agrigento, Catania, Cosenza, Enna, Naples, Palermo, Salerno, Taranto, Trapani and Southern Sardinia.

All the projects include STEAM workshop activities as part of the teaching process, aimed at expanding digital skills through coding and educational robotics.

The initiative confirms once again the commitment of Fondazione CDP and Con i Bambini to the fight against educational poverty and early school leaving in Southern Italy.
