Regional Airports: CDP and Enac Servizi Partner on New Development Models

Through its Advisory division and specialist Centres of Competence, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) is supporting Enac Servizi, which manages a network of 24 regional state-owned airports, to enhance their energy efficiency and attractiveness

Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) and Enac Servizi have signed an agreement to promote innovation and sustainability at Italy's regional airports. The agreement, signed at the beginning of the summer, has now become operational: CDP will provide its support under the InvestEU Advisory Hub, the European Commission programme designed to support investments in projects of common interest.

Under the agreement, CDP will provide advisory and technical assistance to Enac Servizi, which currently manages a network of 24 state-owned regional airports.

  • The first focuses on improving the resilience and energy efficiency of regional airports, including initiatives aimed at decarbonising air mobility.
  • The second seeks to strengthen the logistics role of regional airports as hubs within the wider transport system, promoting integrated services, improved accessibility for users and, consequently, greater attractiveness of the airports.

The agreement was signed by CDP Head of Advisory Maria Elena Perretti and Enac Servizi Sole Director Marco Trombetti.

"We are proud to work alongside Enac Servizi to support the evolution of Italy's regional state-owned airports. Thanks to its specialist expertise and extensive experience, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti is committed to identifying operational and management solutions that foster greater synergies for increasingly advanced, integrated and sustainable mobility. In particular, CDP will contribute technical analyses and economic assessments, supporting the planning of initiatives to maximise their effectiveness and further enhance the attractiveness of these airports," said CDP’s Maria Elena Perretti.

"The operational launch of this collaboration marks an important milestone in the enhancement of the regional state-owned airports managed by Enac Servizi. Working with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti gives us access to highly qualified expertise to develop innovative models that strengthen the sustainability, resilience and attractiveness of these infrastructures, while recognising their strategic role for local communities. I would like to thank CDP for sharing this vision and for the contribution it will bring to the project. We are confident that this partnership will accelerate initiatives capable of combining energy efficiency, mobility development and the creation of new value for local communities, including through an increasingly advanced use of the potential offered by the airports under our management," said Marco Trombetti of Enac Servizi.
