The exhibition, showcasing over sixty photographs, is based on material from the Historic Archive of the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Group and is a part of a more extensive project putting the spotlight on CDP’s artistic and cultural heritage.
The project celebrating the archives of the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Group is visiting Rome, with an exhibition where the history of business culture meets the contemporary world. From 10 December to 14 January, the Great Hall of Palazzo Piacentini, the headquarters of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, will host the exhibition ‘Sguardi d’Impresa. Mimmo Frassineti fotografa la Ferrari’ (‘Business Visions. Mimmo Frassineti photographs Ferrari’), promoted by CDP and Fondazione di Modena, in partnership with Ferrari, with the support of Fondazione Ago Modena Fabbriche Culturali and backing of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy. The exhibition has been curated by CDP’s Artistic and Cultural Heritage Department together with Mimmo Frassineti and centres around seven key words (‘Connections’, ‘Agreement’, ‘Manufacturing’, ‘Precision’, ‘Pride’, ‘Passion’ and ‘Patience’) that highlight continuity and transformation in work and production sites. So the exhibition is a broader reflection on Italian business culture, as a daily practice that renews over time, making our know-how recognisable. The result is not just a comparison between two ages, but also a reflection on the deep bond between man and machine, a relationship of pride, passion, expertise and responsibility.
Inaugurated on 26 September in Modena and with over sixty photographs, the exhibition ‘Sguardi d’Impresa’ draws a parallel between two sets of photographs taken forty-five years apart by Mimmo Frassineti - photographer, journalist and industrial reportage author - at Ferrari’s production sites in Maranello. The first photograph dates back to 1980 and is now in the Historic Archive of the CDP Group; the second photograph, from 2024, was commissioned by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. The extensive project digitalising and promoting material concerns the Group’s entire Historic Photographic Archive, which documents Italy’s industrial development between the 1930’s and 1990’s in over 20,000 images, taking a look at the role of public finance in supporting the main strategic sector of the country’s economy. At the Rome venue, Arnaldo Pomodoro’s sculpture La Colonna del viaggiatore (1966), currently housed at Cassa Depositi e Prestiti’s company museum, will also be exhibited. In a play on iconographic references, the sculpture communicates with the images of the exhibition and enhances the vision of the role of business in promoting culture. Columns are an important constant in Pomodoro’s art from the very early nineteen sixties onwards: a reinterpretation of the architectural element of the classic column, with a wealth of symbolic meanings and memories which the artist impacts with his characteristic cracks and signs. The opening of the Rome exhibition was attended by Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Giovanni Gorno Tempini, Chairman of CDP, Matteo Tiezzi, Chairman of Fondazione di Modena, Davide Abate, Chief Industrial Officer of Ferrari and Simona Panseri, Head of the Communication, External Relations, Art and Culture Department of CDP.
The exhibition will be at Palazzo Piacentini until 14 January 2026, Mondays to Fridays, from 17.00 to 19.00 (excluding weekends and public holidays), and entrance is free. There will be a special opening on Saturday 13 December and Saturday 10 January, from 10.00 to 18.00.
