In 2021 Paola Severino was appointed Chairman of the Scuola Nazionale dell’Amministrazione (SNA), a 4-year post, by Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.
She is Emeritus Professor, Vice President of Luiss Guido Carli, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan organised by the Ministry of University Education and Research, and Co-Chairman of the Scientific Committee and Representative of Italian citizens for the Conference on the Future of Europe.
Former Justice Minister, she was Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the fight against corruption.
She sits on the Committee of the “Order of Merit of the Italian Republic” and was awarded the Grand Cross in 2016.
Among her international positions and honours, she was made Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur by President of France Emmanuel Macron and presented with the Shahamir Shahamiryan gold medal by the Republic of Armenia.
